VIA traveled to Leipzig, Germany for the 2004
Games Convention, which welcomed over 100,000 gamers
from August 19-23. VIA was present as an official sponsor
of the NGL Finals, the German, Austrian and Swiss Championships,
which were running concurrently to the Games Convention.
NGL Finals participants benefited from a high powered
fleet of 200 Official tournament systems powered by
the acclaimed VIA K8T800 Pro chipset, while the VIA
attracted gamers of all ages with a variety of gaming
rigs based on VIA chipsets.
This year the NGL Finals included categories for Battlefield
1942, Counter-Strike, Far Cry, FIFA Football 2004, Warcraft
III: The Frozen Throne, C&C Generals and Need for
Speed Underground, and huge crowds followed the action
as it unfolded on two large screens with live commentary.
Another major attraction at this year's Games Convention
was the Fatal1ty shootout, hosted at the ABIT stand.
The world's leading pro gamer challenged all comers
in a 1 on 1 Unreal Tournament shootout, and gave many
challengers a lesson in game play.
